Welcome back to another weekly review of German Bundesliga, in this article will have a look how the top German Clubs performed during the match day 29.

Bayern Munich had a easy trip to Augsburg on Week 29 as they sealed another demolition victory 4-1 at WWK Arena in front of 30660 spectators. Augsburg started well though and on 18th minute thei forsce an own goal from Niklas Süle. The advantage of the hosts didn’t last though too long as Corentin Tolisso equalized on 32nd minute and James Rodríguez(38′) put Bayern ahead before the end of the first half. Arjen Robben(62′) and Sandro Wagner(87′) got their names on the score sheet in the second half.

Schalke 04 had a good run in the last three games but the unexpected happened this week in the away game at Hamburger SV. Before the match Schalke 04 was on the second position in Bundesliga Table and it took them only 9 minute to open the score through Naldo. Host responded fast and equalized on 17th minute through Filip Kostić. In the beginning of the second half Lewis Holtby put Hamburger SV ahead on 52nd minute but again the advantage was denied eleven minutes latter when Guido Burgstaller equalized for Schalke. Hamburger SV had embarrassing defeats this season from many teams especially from Bayern Munich, but on this specific occasion the players of Christian Titz deliverd their best as they scored the winner on 84th minute through Aaron Hunt.

Borussia Dortmund home game was like usual exciting match to watch as they secured another 3-0 win at Signal Iduna Park in front of a crowd of  81360 spectators against VfB Stuttgart. American wonder kid 19 years old Christian Pulisic continued his good perfomance this season and got his name on the score sheet on 38th minute. Michy Batshuayi scored the second goal on 48th minute and the job got finished on 59th minute when Maximilian Philipp scored the third for Borussia Dortmund.

Luka Jović opened the score for Eintracht Frankfurt at Commerzbank Arena on 49th minute against visiting Hoffenheim. Host didn’t get a goal in the first half and the game being  in the balance, they managed an equalizer shortly after through Serge Gnabry on 56th minute. Draw and a point for each side, situation that slowly, slowly is killing the dreams of Eintracht Frankfurt about European football, though the chances a big if the deliver good result until the end of the campaign.

After RB Leipzig won 2-1 the home game against Bayern Munich, in the game against Bayer Leverkusen the hosting team looked with a slight advantage. At it was the case Marcel Sabitzer opened the score for RB Leipzig on 17th minute and just before the end of the half time, they got equalized trough Kai Havertz. It is hard to imagine what went wrong in between first and second half as Bayer got the initiative and killed the game with three relatively fast goals that came from Julian Brandt(51′), Panagiotis Retsos(56′) and Kevin Volland(69′). After this game Bayer finished the week on 4th position as RB Leipzig dropped to 6th.

After a long break for International friendly games that have the as a main purpose to prepare the National teams for up coming World Cup in Russia 2018, Bundesliga is back with Machday 28. From the beginning we need to say that the break had a major influence on the performance of majority of the teams and as a result the quality of the game had to suffer as a consequence.

Bayer Leverkusen opened the German football weekend with a goalless draw at home against Augsburg and after loosing two points, the hosting team remained on 5th position with 45 points after 28 games.

After beating Bayern Munich at home 2-1, this week RasenBallsport Leipzig got a 3-2 away win at Hannover 96. Swedish winger Emil Forsberg opened the score for visitors on 16th minute and German center defender Willi Orban double the score on 54th minute. Salif Sané  pulled one goal back for Hannover 96 on 71st minute but just five minutes after this Danish striker made it 3-1 for RB Leipzig. The game was opened and it was far to establish the final result. Niclas Füllkrug, the striker of the hosting team got one more goal back for his team on 78th minute but it was not good enough to earn an equalizer. Final Result Hannover 06 2-3 RasenBallsport Leipzig. After this victory visitors went up on 4th position.

Schalke 04 secured one more week the second position on the League Table of the Bundesliga after the got a 2-0 home win over Freiburg. Daniel Caligiuri opened the score for the host in the second half from the penalty spot on 63rd minute and ten minutes after the Austrian striker Guido Burgstaller doule the lead and sealed the final result for hosting team.

The agony of VfB Stuttgart continued this week with a hard gain draw at home 1-1 against one of the weakest sides of the Bundesliga, Hamburger SV. Visitors opened the score on on 18th minute through Lewis Holtby and just a minute before the end of the first half Daniel Ginczek equalized on 44th minute. No more goals arrived on Mercedes-Benz Arena and after this game VfB Stuttgart remained on 8th position with 38 points after 28 games.

The main game of the week by far was the biggest rivality of German football, match of Bayern Munich against Borussia Dortmund, the Klassiker. Expectation were high from Dortmund as they delivered an outstanding performance after they change the coach. The arrival of Michy Batshuayi and the training of the world record athlete Hussain Bolt with the tea kept Borussia in the attention of the media. The game though was by far one sided and Jupp Heynckes’s players demolished 6-0t heir opponents  on Alianz Arena. Robert Lewandowski scored a hat trick(5′, 44′ 87′), James Rodriguez(14′), Thomas Mueller(23′) and  Frank Ribery(45′) scored a goal each and with this perfomance they ultimately claimed another routine domestic Title of Bundesliga.

My personal disappointment of the week arrived this week from  Bremen, where the local team, Werder got a 2-1 home victory over the revelation of this season Frankfurt Eintracht. Zlatko Junuzović opened the score for host on 28th minute and they kept the dominance until 53rd minute, when Luka Jović equalized for Eintracht. The domination of the hosting team grew with each minute closer to final whistle and as a result they manage to force and own goal on 79th minute from David Abraham.

BUNDESLIGA 2017-18 MATCHDAY 27

For All Bundesliga Jerseys and Supporters Gear 2017/2018 Click Here!!!

German football is back this weekend with the match day 27. VfB Stuttgart don’t have by far the best season in 2017-18 campaign. This week the game away at Freiburg was though a victorious one for VfB Stuttgart, they 2-1 after the goals of double of Mario Gomez(4′, 75′), response of the host come on 53rd minute with the equalizer of Nils Petersen, but it was not enough as the opponents scored one more and left Friburg with three points.

Eintracht Frankfurt still remains for me the revelation of this year and in match day 27 they got a comfortable 3-0 home win on  Commerzbank Arena in front of 49500 spectators. Kevin-Prince Boateng opened the score on 6th minute and set the tone of the game. Serbian striker Luka Jovic doubled the score on 23rd minute and Ante Rebic, Croatian winger on loan from Fiorentina sealed the final result in the end of the first half scoring the third goal for the hosts on 41st minute. After this game Entracht climbed on the standing lists of Bundsliga on 4th position.

Schalke 04 had by far a difficult away game at Wolfsburg. Host had their occasion to go ahead on 76th minute, but Dutch right back Paul Verhaegh missed the menaly. As it is often happening in life and on the pitch the missed occasion backfires and it just happened 10 minutes later when ball went in the net after an own goal of Wolfsburg German center defender Robin Knoche. After this win Schalke 04 retain their second position with just one point ahead of Borussia Dortmund that stays on third with 48 points in 27 games.

Michy Batshuayi continued his great performance for Borussia Dortmund this weekend as Belgian striker scored the winning goal of his team in front of 81360 spectators gathered on Signal Iduna Park in the game against Hannover 96.

FC Cologne fight to escape relegation continued this week with a firm 2-0 home win over Bayern Leverkusen. Japonese forward Yuya Osako opened the score on 9th minute. After half an hour visitors remain to finish the game in 10 men as Argentinian stiker of Bayern LEverkusen, Lucas Alario got sent of as he received a red card. With the game open and plenty of time to get the situation fixed game went on and 69th minute German striker Simon Zoller scored the second goal for FC Cologne.

The last game of the week was the match between the champions and vice champions of previous season of Bundesliga 2016-2017, RB Leipzig hosted Bayern Munich. This year the clear 20 point of Bayern Munich made the result of the game not so relevant, 20 points clear before the game is a quite comfortable advantage to get it easy on an opponent that tries to make a point in Bundesliga. Sandro Wagner put Bayern Munich ahead in the beginning of the game after opening the score on 12th minute. RasenBallsport Leipzig responded after 25 minute with the equalizer from Naby Keita on 37th minute. It seemed that the course of the game in no way is going their way for Bayern Munich as on 56th  minute Timo Werner scored the winner goal. After this victory Bayern still remains on unreachable distance on top of Bundeliga with 17 points ahead of second place. For RB Leipzig and specially for their coach Ralph Hasenhuettl it was a great victory in front of 42558 spectators and fans from Red Bull Arena Leipzig, they retain the 6th position but made clear that the team and the coach mean business and with bit of luck can challenge in future the hegemony of Bavarian football giant.

The fight for top 6 position in the Bundesliga came back on match day 25.
