PREMIER LEAGUE 18/19 WEEK 1 HIGHLIGHT, RESULTS, COMMENTS AND LEAGUE TABLE

For English Premier League Football Jerseys Click Here!!!

This year the time between end of the season and the new start of Premier League was quite short due to the FIFA WORLD CUP in RUSSIA 2018. We’ve got a new World Champions in France, a vice champions Croatia and a third place Belgium. All this teams have plenty of players that made their names in Premier League, Eden Hazard, Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, Hugo Loris, Kolo N’Kante, Dejan Lovren and much more.

All the English clubs had time to make the transfers up to 9th of August and from the most important moves this summer we can recount here the transfers of Alison Baker, Jordan Shaqiri, Fabinho, Keita to Liverpool, Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City, Fred and Green to Manchester United, Kepa Arizzabalaga, Jorginho, Maurizio Sarri to Chelsea, Bern Leno, Matteo Guendouzi, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and of course new manager that got the job after the leave of Arsene Wenger, Spanish technician Unai Emery will lead the Gunners in the new campaign 2018/19.

Back to business and let’s have a look to the first week of Premier League, to be honest with you I was very excited. After watching predictions and analysis about the contenders for the title in the new football year in England, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool take the main scene. It seems to be like yesterday the run for the title in season 13/14 when Citizen and Reds finished first and second but all those two, three games in the end of the season full with drama and passion is hard to forget and from a supporter stand of point Liverpool this season fixed the major issues with the squad, they got a brilliant coach that managed to beat three times the magnificent Manchester City, once in the Premier League and twice in Champions League quarterfinals, so maybe this is the season when Liverpool will get their first Premier League Title since 90′, will live and will see.

Jose Mourinho had a quit tough summer preseason with his Manchester United in America. Except Green and Fred, Portuguese didn’t get the players that he wanted to strengthen his defense. This was the main thing that was coming from the Manchester United manager, the complains of the luck of the transfers comparing with the shopping of Everton, Manchester City, Liverpool or Arsenal. First game of the season, Old Trafford Stadium full of excitement and first game at home against Leicester City. Host take the initiative from the first second and on second minute got a penalty that World Cup winner with France, captain of Manchester United, Paul Pogba opened the score on 3rd minute of the game. The mach was mostly open and sometimes Leicester City was showing a game that they might turn around the score. Luke Shaw, player that had a public conflict with Jose Mourinho last season doubled the score on 83rd minute of the game and it seems that his choice the remain at the club, work hard and earn a place in the first team paid back. Anyhow this is English Premier League and until the last second many things can happen and a lead of two goals can be lost in less then 5 minutes to go. Jamie Vardy got the opposition goal on 94th minute after the cross hit the bar, English striker was there to insert he ball in the net with a fast almost instinctive header. Final score Manchester United 2-1 Leicester City.

Fist match of the season Tottenham Hotspur played away at Saint James Park against Newcastle United. Unless their rivals Mauricio Pochettino didn’t got any transfers this summer and with the players that he got in the previous campaign they will carry on in 18/19. Tottenham got their new stadium ready and shortly they will have their first game there, but without having a backup on the bench and few more upgrades on the pitch the challenge of the title against City or Liverpool this year seems less likely, a place in top 4 for sure, Champions League place maybe, but not the title of Premier League. Jan Vertonghen opened the score with a header on 8th minute. The goal line devices proved that the ball crossed slightly the line. Joselu equalized just three minute later for the Black Cats on 11th minute and the last goal of the match arrived on 18th minute from Dele Alli, that gained for this team first three points.

Maurizio Sarri debut with Chelsea in the Premier League had to be a statement that the decision of changing the managers was a good one form the Chelsea board. Italian technician has as an assistant a compatriot and a club legend Gianfraco Zola. Kepa Arizzabalaga that was signed just days ago from Athletic Bilbao for €80m took the place in the goal of Thibaut Courtois, that joined Real Madrid. Another World Cup winner with France, N’golo Kante opened the score on 34th minute for Chelsea. Joringho doubled the score on 45th minute from the penalty spot and Pedro Rodriguez tripled the score on 80th minute against Huddersfield Town, team that promoted to Premier League in 2017 and managed to survive for another season avoiding relegation.

Liverpool had a busy summer on the transfer market and in the preseason had a few good games. After loosing to Borussia Dortmund, Jurgen Klopp’s players beat Manchester United 4-1; luckily, in the last minutes they won 2-1 Manchester City that played mostly with youngsters and just before the start of the campaign they’ve won another friendly against Napoli. The addition in the squad of Alison Baker, Keita, Fabinho and Shaqiri strengthen the squad and all the reds supporters around the world had a feeling that upcoming campaign would bring finally some silverware to Anfield. In the first game of the season they played home against West Ham United, visitors got a new coach Argentinian technician Manuel Pellegrini that won with Manchester City the Premier League. In the unforgettable atmosphere of Anfield, Liverpool started well the game dominating the ball possession and creating dangerous moments. Who else to open the score if not the revelation of the previous campaign Mohamed Salah? On 19th minute James Milner crossed the ball in the box, Sadio Mane passed to Salah and Egyptian inserted the ball in the empty goal, Liverpool 1-0. In the end of the first half Sadio Mane double the score and on 53rd minute Senegalese got his double despite the mistake of the linesman, Mane was in offside. Mistakes happen against you and in your favor, anyhow this goal didn’t counted so much. Daniel Sturridge had a bad season last year, getting relegated with West Bromwich Albion while on loan, in preseason he showed a return of form and just after 28 second on the field he scored the 4th goal for Liverpool(88′), shooting the ball in the goal after a cross from corner and a mistake of West Ham United defender. One Mohamed Salah, two from Sadio Mane and one for Sturridge, not a bad start. More goals and more wins to come to Anfield this upcoming campaign let’s hope for the best and maybe all that fans that became form doubters to believers might see their favorite team lifting the Premier League trophy next May. You Never Walk Alone!!!

New Chapter started at Emirates with the arrival of the new coach Spaniard Unai Emery. From the start of the match it was clear that Manchester City is the clear favorite to take all three points home and is by far the biggest contender for another title in England. The mission of Arsenal was to play on their strengths and to neutralize the midfield of the Citizen with Fabinho, Guendogan and Bruno Silva. Raheem Sterling opened the score on 14th minute of the match with a well taken shoot from center of the box, Cech had minimal chances to get that ball. In the second half Bruno Silva doubled the lead on 64th minute. Arsenal was edging the goal in couple of the occasions but neither Lacazzete neither Aubameyang didn’t find the net. One very important statement must be said, Arsenal will look different and will play another type of football this season because of the new manager, the question is how long it will take to fine tune the squad and style of play in order to deliver results and trophies.

This all being said will let you browse the pictures, videos and stats from bellow and have a look to our football merchandise offers, tickets and more. Let’s Talk Football!!!

PREMIER LEAGUE 17/18 WEEK 38 HIGHLIGHT, RESULTS, COMMENTS AND LEAGUE TABLE

It seemed a mission impossible for me in the beginning of the season that I will writhe a review about each and every single round of Premier League and beside this I was covering other moestich championships as well LaLiga, Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga so finally this is it last round of Premier League season 2017/18 week 38.

Arsenal this year had the worse statistics in the away games and didn’t manage to win a single point in away games until the last match at Huddersfield Town. Europa League cup is gone as well as the fourth place on the table so the only motivation to get the winner was at least securing some European football, Europa League and a good farewell for Arsene Wenger that was his last match as a Arsenal manager, after 22 yeras of working together Frenchman is leaving gunners. Broking the negative statistic of the away games in this second part of the season was possible thank to the goal of  Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from 38th minute.

In order to secure Champions League games next season Liverpool had to win the home game against Brighton and Hove Albion and to secure the fourth spot on the league table. Mohamed Salah scored his 32nd goal of the season in Premier League and put his team ahead on 26th minute. Dejan Lovren, Croatian defender and good friend of Egyptian revelation of the season doubled the score on 40th minute with a good taken header. Dominic Solanke used his chance to impress as good as he could and get his name on the scoreline on 53rd minute. Another revelation of the season was Liverpool left back Scottish-man Andy Roberston, that is considered on of the best left back of the league and in this particular game he got a goal for himself on 85th minute o the match.

Marcus Rashford was again the hero for Manchester United, after the double of the promising English talent scored a double against Liverpool that gain for his team an important three point, this week he scored the only goal of the match on 34th minute and with this result Manchester United finished on second position with 81 point, 19 behind their neighbors Mancherster City and third place Tottenham Hotspur with 4 point ahead of Pochetino’s team.

Chelsea continued to fight for this spot in Champions League and fourth place away at Newcastle United on St. James Park, but for Liverpool manager delivered an unpleasent surprise for the visitors beating them 3-0. Dwight Gayle opened the score on 23rd minute and then a double from Ayoze Pérez(59′, 63′) put the last nails in the coffin of Champions League dreams of Chelsea for the next season. Last game of the season though for Antonio Conti remaining FA Cup final against Manchester United and the last hope to save a largely disappointing campaign for blues.

Manchester City got an late winner away at Southampton. Is not the first time that Citizen are pushing for a winner in the last minutes it happened many times this season and the quality of the squad, players, reserves and coach all together got a incredible chemistry that states that the league had a new dominat force in the years to come. Until then, Gabriel Jesus was the hero of the day scoring the last goal of the season helping his team to seal another record for Premier League, hit team finished 19 points ahead of second place and got a 100 points in a single campaign, the rest of the record set by Manchester City you can find the on their official site.

The post interesting and entertaining game of the week was by far the 5-4 win of Tottenham Hotspur over Leicester City. Visitors started very well the game and Jamie Vardy put them ahead on 4th minute. Host equalized with Harry Kane just three minutes later. Riyad Mahrez put Leicester City in front again on 16th minute and Kelechi Iheanacho made it on 47th minute 3-1 for Leicester City. Erick Lamela got one goal back on 49th minute and an own goal of Christian Fuchs draw the score 3-3 on 53rd minute. Erick Lamela put Spurs in front on 70th minute but Jamie Vary  equalized on 73rd. The winner of the game came from the top scored of the Premier League second after Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and his 30th goal of the campaign on 76th minute the fifth for Tottenham.

PREMIER LEAGUE 17/18 WEEK 37 HIGHLIGHT, RESULTS, COMMENTS AND LEAGUE TABLE

For English Premier League Fan Club Gears(Jerseys, Kits, Accessories and more)

Welcome back to Premier League review by Myfootballstaff team, today will have a short look on week 37 and how the grands of the English league played this round of domestic championship.

It seemed that the weeknd will be quite interesting after the first game of the weekend brought a general surprising result from Chris Hughton’s players, Brighton & Hove Albion won the home game on The American Express Community Stadium in front of 30611 spectators/ The winner of the game arrived in the second half of the match and was scored by 26 years of German midfielder Pascal Groß on 57th minute. The game on Manchester United was in many occasions under scrutiny this campaign but unfortunateley for their fans and Jose Mourinho, plan didn’t work for this game and despite securing second spot on the league table and a place in Champions League next season, majority of people following this club want more dynamic, attacking and attractive football from a side that have plenty of players capable of delivering such football.

After returning of Harry Kane from injury Tottenham Hotspur played with more calm and composure fact that helped them to overtake inconsistent Liverpool performance and climb on the third position of the Premier League table. The away game at  West Bromwich Albion was looking before the start as a tough match to play against one side that got relegated and had hard times and moments during entire season so the farewell from the top English football was there to be seen. Despite the advantage of the visiting team with top quality in all the parts of the field, attack, middle and back line, Mauricio Pochettino’s players failed to open the opposition defense and score a goal. In the last seconds of the game, West Bromwich Albion repeated the heroics form the game with Liverpool that they finished draw coming back from 0-2, against Tottenham they’ve scored in the seconds of the game and got all three points. the winner was scored by Jake Livermore.

Manchester City got the title few games before the end of the season so there are no pressure anymore whatsoever and the game agaist Huddersfield Town  seemed  simple walk in the park and delivering the home supporters gathered on Etihad stadium another night to remember with lots of goals. Well it didn’t worked quite in this way and by the final whistle both teams left the field without any goals scored. Nothing to be worry for Manchester City and a huge point and result for visitors that got this important away point on the filed of English Champions and point that counted a lot for their fight of remianing in Premier League next season. Mission complete.

Emotional night on Emirates stadium where Arsene Wenger got this last home game and the farewell reception from all Arsenal fans and board members. With this occasion Gunners delivered a great football match and demolished Burnley 5-0. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a double on this occasion opening the score and closing it(14′, 57′). Alexandre Lacazette doubled the lead of Arsenal just before the end of the first half time on 45th minute. Sead Kolašinac made the score 3-0 on 54th minute and ten minutes later Alex Iwobi made it 4-0. End of an era for Arsenal and the main question that is going to make the headlines for upcoming weeks i who will replace French manager.

After missing four points in the last two games, Liverpool was going on Stamford Bridge to get their first win in the last three games. The attacking line of the reds was brilliant this season in Premier League and in Champions League so the main job of Antonio Conti, Chelsea manager, was to annihilate the attacking force of opposition and got a winner. Despite being more dangerous in the first and second half to the match, Chelsea forced the winner at home in front of their fans with a 1-0 win after the goal of Oliver Giroud on 32nd minute of the game.

PREMIER LEAGUE 17/18 WEEK 36 HIGHLIGHT, RESULTS, COMMENTS AND LEAGUE TABLE

For English Premier League Fan Club Gears(Jerseys, Kits, Accessories and more)

Hi everyone, as you might already know by this time Pep Guardiola killed already all the intrigue of the Premier League race winning the title in the previous week so here we have remained the fight for the top four clubs who will play next year directly in the groups of UEFA Champions League.

Before the replay game in UEFA Champions League Semifinals, Liverpool played a goalless draw at home against the relegating side Stoke City. Reds had few big occasions to get the winner but after 90 minutes the score remained dry on Anfield 0-0. No players from the Liverpool squad got an major injury except Oxlande Chamberlaine, so the Liverpool fans didn’t get to go worry for the second leg of Semifinals on Olimpico against AS Roma.

Usually I’m not writing anything about smaller sides, not because is irrelevant, but because of the simple limitation of time and work load, but here I want to express my amazement from the 5-0 win of Crystal Palace over Leicester City. Wilfried Zaha opened the score on 17th minute, James McArthur doubled the lead on 38th minute. Show continued in the second half as well first Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored the third on 81st minute, Patrick van Aanholt made the 4-0 on 84th minute and Christian Benteke sealed the final score 5-0 after finishing from the white spot on 90th minute.

Chelsea didn’t play last week due the FA Cup semifinals so they got back to action in the 1-0 away win at Swansea City. The single goal of the game was scored on 4-th minute by Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas on 4th minute of the game, and despite all the efforts of attacking players of the visitors, Chelsea failed to increase the difference on the score sheet, but it was enough to gain them three points and get more confidence to force the fight for the 4th position on the Premier League Table.

Manchester City have a festive disposition after they secured the English Title so the series for records breaking continued this week in the 4-1 away win at West Ham United. Leroy Sane put the Citizens ahead on 13th minute, Pablo Zabaleta own goal made it 2-0 for visitors on 27th minute and the hosts got one goal back just before the end of the first time through Aaron Cresswell on 42nd minute. Manchester City continued the attacking football that they showed for entire campaign and delivered two more goals: Gabriel Jesus(53′) and Fernandinho(64′).

In the last 22 years it was just very few times when Arsenal of Arsene Wenger won the away games at Old Trafford. This was the last game of the French Manager in charge against Manchester United of Jose Mourinho. Manchester United opened the score through  Paul Pogba on 16th minute but shortly after the beginning of the second half Henry Mkhitaryan equalized for the gunners on 51st minute. It was a game that showed two different approaches of the same game and in the end the Portuguese got the winner after the goal of defensive midfielder Marouan Fellaini in the last seconds of the second half.

Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning behaviors and got a comfortable 2-0 home win against Watford. Dele Alli opened the score on 16th minute and Harry Kane doubled the lead on 48th minute of the match. Important victory to secure a Champions League place for the next campaign for Suprs.
