Spanish Super Cup 2017(Supercopa de España)
Real Madrid 5-1 Barcelona
One of the most expected National Super Cup was Supercopa de España (Spanish Super Cup 2017) between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Both teams had a busy preseason in USA and the Bluegrana was on the first pages of the world newspapers after completing the biggest ever transfer of Neymar Jr. to Paris Saint-Germain for a reported sum of €222 million. The departure of Jose Enrique, who was replaced as a head coach by Ernesto Valverde and move of Neymar to France seemed to affect the overall performance of the Catalans, who suffered an incredible 1-5 defeat on aggregate to Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid(First Leg 13 August 2017: Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid and Second Leg 16 August 2017: Real Madrid 2-0 Barcelona). The new era begins on Nou Camp and it seems that it will take some time to fine tune the Team that was winning everything every where, in Spain and in Europe. Both teams showed a wonderful performance but lack of attacking strength and precision cost Leonel Messi and his team mates the victory. Cristioano Ronaldo got suspended after he got a red card and tried to push the referee. Real Madrid won second game without Portuguese and proved that their success is not laying in one single player. The First Leg goals were scored by: Pique(o.g), Asensio, Ronaldo and Messi. In the Second Leg Asensio and Benzema scored the victory goals, leaving the Barceona board, technical staff and players to find out how to stop The Invincible Real Madrid.
