LALIGA SANTANDER 2018-2019 WEEK 6: HIGHLIGHTS, RESULTS, COMMENTS AND LEAGUE TABLE

Welcome back to weekly football talk at myfootballstaff.com about Spanish LaLiga Santander 2018-19 today will have a quick look at the week 6 of top football league of Iberic Peninsula. Atletico Madrid had a slow start of the season but this week they got their second win in row this time in front of 47.109 home supporters on Wanda Metropolitano. Antoine Griezmann opened the score on 16th minute in a 3-0 victory. Thomas Partey doubled the score on 29th minute and Koke made it 3-0 on 33rd minute of the match. SD Huesca the team that promoted just this year in LaLiga had the bad luck to get beaten in Madrid but it can be a turning point for Diego Simeone’s team to boost their moral and focus on shifting Real and Barcelona from Spain dominance.

Ladies and Gents the surprises though arrived from the team you and us never could imagine this, Barcelona and Real Madrid the grands of LaLiga got beaten in the same machday. First it was Leganes that beat Barcelona 2-1. 26th of September might be considered a special day for Leganes because in just two minutes the local team gave checkmate Barcelona Football Club and pushed for a historical win 2-1 on Estadio Municipal Butarque. Phillipe Coutinho opened the score for visitors on 12th minute but in the second half Leganes produced a blitz on magic on 53rd minute Nabil El Zhar equalized and just a minute later Óscar Rodríguez Arnaiz put the Leganes ahead in a surprising style, though the defensive mistakes had pledged Blaugrana and in previous games but in this match the equalizer just didn’t arrived on time despite their pressure and chances created.

Valencia, well the second team from the same city was very close to their first win in the last three games after(last two games ended with a similar score 0-0) Michy Batshuayi opened the score on 25th minute in the home match against Celta Vigo. The hero of the visitors though was Iago Aspas that equalized on 85th minute.

After a warming up in the previous match in Valencia, where Sevilla beat Levante 6-2 in LaLiga Santander Week 6 on
Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, Sevilla served a bitter pill to visiting Real Madrid beating them 3-0 without any right of doubt. Host was dominating the game from the start to end of the match and the score might be much bigger if all the occasions were successful finalized. All goals were scored in the first half and visitors had an entire 45 minutes to come back and get a draw if not a win but unfortunately for Real Madrid supporters it didn’t happened. Double of Andre Silva(17′, 21′) and third from Wissam Ben Yedder(39′) pulled Sevilla after this round on 5th place with 10 points after 6 matches.

After six rounds in LaLiga Santander 2018-19, Barcelona and Real Madrid remained the top of the league with 13 points each, Atletico Madrid joined them on third place with 11 points, Sevilla is on 5 with 10 points and Valencia after a third draw in raw finished the round 6 on 16th with 5 points in 6 games.

LALIGA SANTANDER 2018-2019 WEEK 5: HIGHLIGHTS, RESULTS, COMMENTS AND LEAGUE TABLE

Between 21 and 23 of September 2018 were played the matches of 5th round of LaLiga Santander 2018-19 and it was normal that the grands of the Spanish football should’ve make all in their power to fix the shaky results that they might have in the previous weeks and slowly slowly create the gap to other contenders for the Champions Crown. Barcelona that won all four games in the begging of the campaign 2018-2019 had played on Camp Nou against Girona. Visitors that promoted last year in LaLiga from Secunda delivered a nice appearance and managed to stay in the top fight of Spanish football. As it was expected the host started the assault on the goal of Girona from the first minutes of the game and on 19th minute Lionel Messi opened the score. Visitors had already made a statement that they are very dangerous in the set pieces and Cristhian Stuani scored two goals to equalize and then to put his team ahead(45′, 51′). Gerard Pique scored on 63rd minute leveling the teams on the score sheet but despite their pressure and occasions Barcelona failed to keep their winning line and lost their first two points at home in a match with an overage opponent. In derbies against Sevilla, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid or Valencia, Ernesto Valverde gonna fix the hole from defense if they really want to retain the title in Spain.

In football every player and team must be focused 120% each match, each episode on order not to give the opponent the chance to outplay them and still the victory. This being said we have here Atletico Madrid that draw 1-1 at home with Eibar and was traveling this week to Getafe that won away at Sevilla 2-0. Diego Simeone’s team had approached the match with an aggressive attacking style that paid back and secured them a win after a double of the French winger Thomas Lemar that scored a goal in each of the times(14′, 60′).

Estadio Santiago Bernabéu is a shrine for all those passionate about football because on this pitch had played and are still playing one of the greatest players in the history. From this stand point all people that are going to he matches of Real Madrid on a regular basis get used to see a lot of goals and most important the show of combinations, passes, dribbling and acrobatic display from their favorite team. Times are changing and most important the team is starting a new reign under Lapotegui. In week 5 of LaLiga Santander, Real Madrid had imposed themselves in front of RCD Espanyol with a minimal advantage 1-0 after the goal of Isco on 41st minute. Win is a win but for that particular part of supporters that were angry and upset by the display of their favorite team need to be done a reminder of the changes that are done and the rejuvenation of the team that is  painful step but the necessary one to keep Real Madrid on the top of European and World Football.

One of the most interesting matches this weekend was in Valencia where Levante played Sevilla at Estadio Ciutat de València. It was a very dynamic game with 8 goals, two for the hosting team: Roger 12′, Moses Daddy Simon 90′ and six for visitors: Ben Yedder 11′, 35′, 45′, Carriço 21′, André Silva 49′, Sarabia 59.

Another week another goalless draw from Valencia, this time the away match against Villarreal ended 0-0 was more or less acceptable than a defeat but for all their fans and the rest of the people that are following LaLiga, the current performance of the bats looks like a thin ghost comparing with the squad that was winning games in raw in previous campaign.

After matchday 5 in LaLiga Barcelona and Real Madrid stays on first and second with 13 points each, Atletico Madrid climbed on 5th with 8 points, Sevilla on 7th with 7 points and Valencia after a second 0-0 draw ended this weekend on 15th with 5 point after first five games.

LALIGA SANTANDER 2018-2019 WEEK 4: HIGHLIGHTS, RESULTS, COMMENTS AND LEAGUE TABLE

Every year the start of the season is different from any single side. After winning three Champions League title in raw Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid that started a new chapter in its huge and successful history. By the way the royal club started there are a lot of thing to talk about and one of this is that Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale started to score more goals same thing with Isco and Asensio that get more importance on the pitch in the absence of Portuguese winger. In LaLiga Week 4 Real Madrid finished draw at Athletic Bilbao after they came back in the game and rescued a point with equalizer from Isco.

Atletico Madrid have their own problems in the defensive line where Diego Godin is not getting any younger and this week they dropped another two point at home with a 1-1 draw against the modest Eibar that was close to win the match but the late equalizer of Borja Garcés Moreno saved Diego Simeone’s side from humiliation in front of home supporters.

Despite their super attacking power Barcelona had massive problems in defensive line as well and thank to the goals of Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele, Ernesto Valverde’s team clinched a minimal victory 2-1 away at Real Sociedad. Hosts opened the score on 12th minute through Aritz Elustondo but felt short in the second half conceding twice on 63rd and 66th minute, so their advantage slip between the fingers.

Valencia is struggling to get a win this weekend and the game at home against Real Betis ended in a disappointing goalless draw 0-0 though visitors controlled the big part of the game and had more occasion to push the balance in their favor. With all this being said the bats that had transferred in summer Michy Batshuayi had to wait for another week to see Batman in action.

Sevilla was hosting in LaLiga Santander 2018-2019 Week 4 on Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in front of their fans the modest but tough team of Getafe that delivered an astonishing away win after Ángel Luis Rodríguez Díaz scored a double in the first half(3′, 38′).

After first four matches in LaLiga Santander 2018-19 Barcelona stays on the top, followed by Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid is on 9th place with 5 points in 4 games, Sevilla is on 12 with 4 point in 4 matches and Valencia ended this week on 17th with 3 points.
