Week 30 in German Bundesliga was far from most dramatic one as the Champions we’re already known from last week when Bayern Munich after the game against Augsburg started the celebration of the new title on the pitch. Main attention though remained on the spots that will play next year in Europe either Champions League or Europa League and here the fight continues between Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim.

Bayer Leverkusen knocked badly Eitrach Frankfurt at BayArena in front of  30210 spectators with a impressive performance and a match that delivered a 4-1 comfortable win. Julien Brandt opened the score on 20th minute, but visitors responded back with an equalizer of Marco Fabián on 23rd minute. The turn around of the match arrived though in the second part of the game when during 6 minutes Leverkusen scored twice trough Kevin Volland(71′, 77′). Having two goals to recover was a task too difficult for Eintracht and the 25 years old German Winger, Kevin Volland completed his hat trick on 88th minute helping his team to climb on third place of German Bundesliga 2017/18 table.

VfB Stuttgart had a difficult season so far and one of the reasons is that the team is currently going though a transition and reconstruction period. The results of this campaign were reflected on the pitch with their up and downs. Playing home this week VfB Stuttgart opened the score in the beginning of the second half on 53rd minute through 23 years old German winger Erik Thommy. Failing to increase the lead the opposition, Hannover 96, got a lucky equalizer through Niclas Füllkrug. After 30 games VfB Stuttgart stays on 10th place with 39 points.

Bayern Munich, Champions of Germany of this season 2017-18, delivered a show of goals in the home game against Borussia Moenchengladbach, beating visitors 5-1, making with this a clear statement that the scoring machine is ready for one of the most exciting semi-finals of Champions League against two time winners in row Real Madrid. Josip Drmić opened the score for visitors on 9th minute, but this lead didn’t affect the play and the mood of German champions as Sandro Wagner scored twice before the half time with this equalizing and putting his team ahead(37′, 41′).  On 51st minute Thiago Alcantara made it 3-1, David Alaba scored one more on 67th minute and of course the top scorer of the league, 29 years old Polish striker Robert Lewandowski got one as well on 82nd minute of the game.

In the local derby Schalke 04 had scored twice in the 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund. The game was close and the for the first goal of the game 61786 spectators from had to wait until 50th minute when Yevhen Konoplyanka opened the score for the hosts. As per the German Media one of the best goals of the week was score in this game and came on 82nd minute when Naldo scored from stunner from a free kick. Schalke 04 remains on second with 4 point advance of the third placed Bayer Leverkusen that accumulated 51 points same as Dortmund but have a better goal difference. Borussia though was badly affected as they not just lost the game, on 92nd minute on loan striker Michy Batshuayi got injured and got stretchered from the pitch, that can be a big blow for the yellow and personally for Belgian that might miss the World Cup in Russia 2018.

RB Leipzig played in Match day 30 away at Werder Bremen and in this game I think that the visitors we’re favorites of getting all three points out of the clash. Niklas Moisander opened he score for Werder on 28th minute and the respond of Leipzig arrived 5 minutes after the beginning o the second half when Ademola Lookman equalized for visitors. RasenBallsport Leipzig after this match stays on 5th with 47 points one more than Hoffenheim that climbs fast, just one point behind them.

Welcome back to another weekly review of German Bundesliga, in this article will have a look how the top German Clubs performed during the match day 29.

Bayern Munich had a easy trip to Augsburg on Week 29 as they sealed another demolition victory 4-1 at WWK Arena in front of 30660 spectators. Augsburg started well though and on 18th minute thei forsce an own goal from Niklas Süle. The advantage of the hosts didn’t last though too long as Corentin Tolisso equalized on 32nd minute and James Rodríguez(38′) put Bayern ahead before the end of the first half. Arjen Robben(62′) and Sandro Wagner(87′) got their names on the score sheet in the second half.

Schalke 04 had a good run in the last three games but the unexpected happened this week in the away game at Hamburger SV. Before the match Schalke 04 was on the second position in Bundesliga Table and it took them only 9 minute to open the score through Naldo. Host responded fast and equalized on 17th minute through Filip Kostić. In the beginning of the second half Lewis Holtby put Hamburger SV ahead on 52nd minute but again the advantage was denied eleven minutes latter when Guido Burgstaller equalized for Schalke. Hamburger SV had embarrassing defeats this season from many teams especially from Bayern Munich, but on this specific occasion the players of Christian Titz deliverd their best as they scored the winner on 84th minute through Aaron Hunt.

Borussia Dortmund home game was like usual exciting match to watch as they secured another 3-0 win at Signal Iduna Park in front of a crowd of  81360 spectators against VfB Stuttgart. American wonder kid 19 years old Christian Pulisic continued his good perfomance this season and got his name on the score sheet on 38th minute. Michy Batshuayi scored the second goal on 48th minute and the job got finished on 59th minute when Maximilian Philipp scored the third for Borussia Dortmund.

Luka Jović opened the score for Eintracht Frankfurt at Commerzbank Arena on 49th minute against visiting Hoffenheim. Host didn’t get a goal in the first half and the game being  in the balance, they managed an equalizer shortly after through Serge Gnabry on 56th minute. Draw and a point for each side, situation that slowly, slowly is killing the dreams of Eintracht Frankfurt about European football, though the chances a big if the deliver good result until the end of the campaign.

After RB Leipzig won 2-1 the home game against Bayern Munich, in the game against Bayer Leverkusen the hosting team looked with a slight advantage. At it was the case Marcel Sabitzer opened the score for RB Leipzig on 17th minute and just before the end of the half time, they got equalized trough Kai Havertz. It is hard to imagine what went wrong in between first and second half as Bayer got the initiative and killed the game with three relatively fast goals that came from Julian Brandt(51′), Panagiotis Retsos(56′) and Kevin Volland(69′). After this game Bayer finished the week on 4th position as RB Leipzig dropped to 6th.
